Managing Director – Head of US Technology, Media and Telecom
Dan Chen brings to China eCapital Partners, LLC (“CEC Capital”) over 19 years of investment banking, private equity and corporate development experience in the technology, media and telecom (TMT) industries, and has been involved in over $5 billion in transactions during his career. Dan currently leads origination and execution of cross-border US – Asia M&A and capital raising mandates for clients in the Internet software and services space; and the telecom, media, and entertainment industries.
Dan was a managing director at Siemer & Associates prior to CEC Capital. He was also a member of the investment team at TPG Capital (TPG Asia), where he was involved on cross-border buyout and venture investments in the U.S. and Asia. Prior to Siemer & Associates, Dan was also Vice President in the media and software groups at Montgomery & Co., where he was involved on a number of large M&A transactions involving strategic acquirers such as Disney and WPP Group. He also led corporate development activities at a family office-backed holding company in Los Angeles focused on investments in the healthcare services and IT space. Dan began his career in 1999 as a technology M&A banker at Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York and San Francisco.
In his spare time, Dan enjoys being a part of the mentor team at Mucker Capital, advising tech and media entrepreneurs in the early stage startup ecosystem in Southern California and the Bay Area.
Mr. Chen graduated from Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He is a registered General Securities Principal (Series 24) and Representative (Series 63 and 79 licenses) with FINRA/SIPC (formerly NASD).
Executive Director – US Healthcare
Leading the firm’s US healthcare efforts, Jeremy Taylor brings twenty years of experience working with life sciences companies, managing M&A, financing and licensing processes, and navigating companies through the capital markets. From 2011 to 2015, Jeremy was a Vice President in the Healthcare Capital Markets group at JMP Securities, where he developed strong relationships with investors in the healthcare space. From 2007 to 2010, Mr. Taylor advised and developed acquisition strategies for biotech and medtech clients at Montgomery & Co. and Montgomery, Marshall Healthcare Partners, LLC. From 2000 to 2004, Mr. Taylor was an investment analyst at Biotechnology Value Fund, L.P, one of the first biotech hedge funds formed in the industry. Mr. Taylor has a Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology (1996) from Stanford University and returned to Stanford and received his MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (2001). He is a registered General Securities Representative (Series 79 and 63 licenses) with FINRA/SIPC (formerly NASD).
Alice Feng is a Senior Associate with China eCapital Partners, LLC (“CEC Capital”) and is based in San Francisco. She was previously with CVCapital and focused on providing cross-border M&A advisory services for companies in technology, fintech, consumer brands, advanced manufacturing, and healthcare sectors. Prior to CVCapital, she was an analyst with the Portfolio Analytics Group of BlackRock, and was part of a team providing customized analytical solutions and actionable analysis to BlackRock’s various portfolio management and investment teams. Alice graduated from The University of Hong Kong with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance, and received her master’s degree in Financial Mathematics at Stanford University. She is a registered General Securities Representative (Series 79 and 63 licenses) with FINRA/SIPC (formerly NASD).
James Qiu is a Senior Analyst with China eCapital Partners, LLC (“CEC Capital”) and is based in Los Angeles. He brings several years of experience in cross-border investment banking and management consulting. He was previously with Elmcore Group, WaterRock Capital, DBS Bank, and Meritco Services, where he executed deals for M&A, capital raise, and IPO clients. James graduated from Cornell University with a degree in economics. He is a registered General Securities Representative (Series 7 and 66 licenses) with FINRA/SIPC (formerly NASD).
VP, Marketing & Operations
Leading marketing initiatives for the firm, Annie contributes over ten years of experience in project management, conference planning and communications. Based in Los Angeles, Annie manages the schedule of marketing events held by the firm throughout the year, including the annual CEC Capital Tech and Media Summit (now in its 8th year) as well as the yearly CEC Capital Healthcare Reception at the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference. Annie graduated from the University of Connecticut (2005) with a degree in Political Science with a focus on international relations.
